Girls Day Out
Today was Rebecca and I's planned trip to Mall of America (MOA). Alex had daycare today and so it was a good time to get out; just us girls. It started out harmless enough, at a toy store, where the above little dog was purchased. We flitted around having smoothies, ooooing and ahhing over this and that, trying on shoes (a joint love) and then.. we happened upon a quaint shop called Libby Lu. This is a little girls' paradise. It ooozes with pink, glitter and all-around girliness. In other words, all things that make me cringe. One of the special things about this store is that it has a little salon. You can choose from 5 different hairstyles, that come with different accessories, they do your makeup and they even have clothes to dress up in. It just so happens, Becca, in her curious ways, notices they do a "Mom & Me" package. And of course, the salon just happens to have an opening in about 20 minutes. And the photos DO NOT EVEN capture the copius amounts of glitter that adorn our hair, face and the 3 foot space all around us!!! Our hair is actually pretty fun, which doesn' t show either. The look upon Rebecca's face during the whole process was priceless! The girls who work the salon portion complimented me on going through this whole process because apparently, most moms don't. Rebecca pipes in and says "Well, that's because those moms aren't cool like my mom". That, right there, made it all worth while. She'll be having her birthday party there in August. :)
