The Pig Pen

I'm the last person I thought would ever create a blog. It's my lame attempt to give my family and friends a means of keeping up with my goings on and those of my kids. This way, I can prove I haven't fallen off the earth and that I do think of you all often.. even if I don't show it. Here goes!

First Buzz

I received a text message from Todd last weekend who was at his parents' house getting a haircut. Alex was wanting his hair cut 'just like Todd'. After I gave the go ahead, the hair started flying! Alex loves his new cut and Grandma Cookie sent home the severed mop in a baggie labeled: "Alex's First Buzz Cut"!

She and he

Here's a recent photo taken at our family/engagement session in Minneapolis earlier this month. If you'd like to view other photos, please visit http://www.kofoto.net/

Here I am!

This is for my brother, Tim, who says I am not pictured on my blog. Obviously, he didn't go back far enough as I do appear somewhat regularly!! :)

On the road again...

Now, as you may recall, Alex learned to ride a two-wheeler right before we moved from Eagan. That bike was rather small, so we got him a new bike when we moved into the house; which he refused to ride. Period. So, got it down a week ago and within 15 minutes he was cruising all over the place. I took him on a rather lengthy ride the other day and he kept right up!

Fun in the Sun

Of course, with the afore mentioned good weather, it's been great for water fun. The kids have enjoyed watergun fights and of course a run in our new yard toy. Got this thing at Wal-mart and it really shoots the water! Very fun! The only thing missing in these adventures are the Shawleys!

Summer's glow

Pretty cool, huh, Jer??

Been having some fine days. And by this I mean, mild temps and NO wind (a rarity for Marshall). So we've had plenty of opportunity to sit around the firepit in the yard on some of these nites to enjoy the company of family and friends and, of course, consume copious amounts of s'mores!
Have spent a lot of time landscaping thus far this summer. The yard is looking HEAPS better! After I did up the existing beds, I added 3 more. Which are just now ready for tilling after applying Killzall :) I finish up the season at the greehouse this weekend. It's been fun!
Michaela is finishing up Driver's Ed!!! She survived! Now, this is only the classroom portion. Upon her turning 15 in August, I have to sign her up for 'behind the wheel'.
Doug was here visiting for a couple weeks. We all enjoyed that! Thanks again to him for the several projects he helped me with!! Kids are looking forward to their trip to Washington in July.
Next week we'll head out to MT to visit my dad. I haven't been home in two years. Hard to believe! The friends are excited we're coming too. And of course, this will be the first time Dad meets Todd LOLOL The trip will be action packed and too short I am sure!

Todd got his moveable brace on. That's going pretty well. Certainly easier to deal with than the splint.
Last night at trap, I shot an 18 and a 17. My highest scores ever! Thanks to Doc Bruns for lending me his Ruger. It's AMAZING. For the first time ever, I think I knew what it was like to truly love a gun. Now I'm set on saving money to buy it as he offered to sell it to me!!! And of course, it's not cheap.
The marriage blessing is 79 days away. There is still much to be done. I'm trying not to freak, somehow, it will all work out!

My friend, Kim, has finished chemo!!! YIPPEE!!! Now it's on to 33 rounds of radiation. Home stretch Kimmy!

Wii love it!!!

Finally broke down and got a Wii. Kids have been enjoying it HEAPS. Todd and I have hardly touched it! LOL Here's Alex and Doug having a boxing match. Alex really gets into it!
